To achieve good health and personal security, it's essential to apply a strategy. That is a layered approach. Think of health, fitness, and personal security like an onion, with each aspect representing a different layer. I speak from personal experience—I've successfully lost layers of fat, discontinued my blood pressure medication, and built muscle while managing demanding work hours and traveling extensively across the country. Additionally, I draw on my experience training students in hand-to-hand combat.

Most people do not have extensive amounts of time to spend on their health, fitness, and security. Many throw whatever they can and hope it is enough. A little cardio here, some diet drinks there, and maybe a firearm thrown in for good measure.

There is a better way! It starts with planning and identifying your objectives. What would you like to achieve? What risk will you tolerate? What risk will you not tolerate? We help you lay out simple process-focused goals that lead to a winning outcome.

This is how the onion strategy comes into play. Once you have identified what is important to you. You then need to isolate the layers that need to be put into place for you to reach your objectives.

Here is an example of personal security in layers;

  • Implement a personal security audit & plan.

  • Lock down the amount of intelligence that can be collected on you.

  • Make your phone anonymous and untrackable.

  • Lock down your computer.

  • Put assets in trust and anonymous LLCs.

  • Discover and apply advanced situational awareness.

  • Understand self-defense law.

  • Learn how to use proven combatives or weapons.

  • Get first-aid training

Now let's compare that to someone who just has a firearm or a martial arts skill. I think you can see how the person who has layered their security has become a much harder target compared to the I have a gun or martial arts skill. For instance, say someone wants to target a gun owner. They can collect information that is available on the open web and the dark web in data breaches. They can pay an unethical bounty hunter or PI who has access to more sensitive databases to have that phone tracked(you can read about it here ). It gets even worse if law enforcement goes rogue like what happened here. The next thing you know everything about the firearm owner is available for a target package(plan of attack) to be developed and the person ambushed when they are at a significant disadvantage.

But let's give the gun owner a break and say they have done a personal security audit. They have now added one layer of protection to their security. If done correctly they will now identify areas of weakness and opportunities to strengthen their defenses and offenses in their life. This makes raising a successful attack much harder. And that's just one layer! See It's not about becoming a tactical jockstrap. Its about layered security.

This same principle applies to health and fitness. Instead of just implementing a diet drink here and there. Adding a couple of fad yo-yo diets throughout the year. Make a solid evidence based plan. This is taking scientific research and wraping it around your goals. A good personal trainer puts the caring human side to it. So identify your goals. Work with professionals who use evidence-based science. Nationally accredited certified personal trainers and registered dieticians. Have the personal trainer assess you to find out where you are at. If they don't do an assessment, run!!!! They will help find muscle imbalances, and postural inefficiencies and give you a baseline so you can track progress and train safely. A good personal trainer will also help you habit stack slowly so that you can make lifetime changes in behaviors that will leave you feeling good! As you layer these habits in you will come to see how well the model serves you to maintain the new you.
